The Best Shower Essentials
1. Shampoo
My favorite shampoos are filled with clean ingredients that will help promote hair growth and focuses on scalp health. If these are not a concern to you, skip to conditioner 😉
This 107 beauty shampoo is absolutely amazing! It is filled with ingredients that are designed to act like skincare for your scalp. With the soothing smell of eucalyptus, I am absolutely in love with this shampoo and how it makes my hair look. I have never had such smooth and full hair than when using this shampoo!
Sachajuan makes my holy grail shampoo. If you had to buy one thing on this list, please let it be this. You will be thanking me for years to come!
This shampoo is meant to keep your scalp super clean and hydrated. My scalp always feels amazing after using this. My dandruff and dry scalp has gone down almost 100% since using this as a treatment once a week.
2. Conditioner
I am obsessed with this Redken all soft conditioner. It has transformed my curls and made my hair look so smooth and silky. I’ve never had such pretty hair than now since I am using this in combination with my shampoos.
3. Deep Conditioner and Scalp Scrub
Olaplex is known for giving you healthy hair that is fuller and thicker than ever! If you can’t afford olaplaex, then the next deep conditioner might just be the one for you!
Eva NYC has a great hair mask that you can buy on Amazon, Target, and Walmart! It might not be salon grade, but it is really pretty and will make your hair feel and look thicker.
Kristen Ess has a great scalp scrub for your dandruff or dry scalp. If you struggle with a dry scalp, then this is a great option.
Dove’s scalp+ hair therapy is a great clarifying scrub that will also take care of your dandruff and dry scalp. If you are looking for a scrub, I would see which one (this or Kristen Ess) is cheaper on Amazon or in your area for you and choose the cheapest option. I personally like the Dove for the scent and texture, but I understand the packaging is a little messy.
4. Body Wash
This body wash is my absolute favorite body wash of all time. Watch the video below for more info, but this body wash makes you so smooth and glowy that I never want to use a different body wash. My only issue is since it moisturizes so well, I use it on my armpits and then use another wash to get all my deodorant off and cleans the skin!
This body wash concentrate is environmentally friendly and smells super nice. If you are already a fan of dove body wash, consider giving this one a try to save on plastic!
5. Body Scrubs
Tree Hut has some pretty classic body scrubs, but the vanilla scent is my favorite. Whatever is the cheapest at the store, or if one is on clearance is the one I will buy because they are all so good and smell great. They need to give whoever develops their scents a raise!
This deep sea, sea salt body scrub is really nice and can be a great option for those who want a stronger scrub. This really gets all your dead skin off while moisturizing and making you feel like you are at a spa.
6. Razor
If you want your razor heads to last longer and stay super sharp then this is the razor for you! I love flamingo and I think that they have the cutest razors too.
7. Dry Brushing or Exfoliating Glove
blood flow
African net sponges are a great option for exfoliating because they last for years! They are naturally antimicrobial and they dry super quickly so they don’t get mildew or mold on them.
An exfoliating glove is a classic choice. They work really well and they have a long lifespan. My only qualm is that they take forever to dry and that kinda grosses me out, personally.
A dry brush is great for blood flow and for exfoliating your skin. It might feel a little harsh when you first use it, but after awhile you will start to crave the feeling of the brush against your skin1
8. Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
seed oil
Coconut oil is my personal favorite but you can choose another nut or seed oil if you prefer. Olive oil is also a great option. I use this for so much! The occasional hair mask, to take off makeup, shaving cream, and so much more. There are a plethora of things you can do with coconut oil in your shower routine so I think it is a shower essential.
9. Face Wash
hyaluronic acid
This Goodlight Cosmic Dew Water cleanser has been my favorite cleanser for months now. I keep going back to it because it is so simple but it does such a good job without drying out my skin!
The CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser has ceramides and hyaluronic acid that will hydrate and help protect your skin barrier. If you get bumps on your arms or legs, then this cleanser could also help with those!
10. Shower Steamers
Vicks makes a really nice shower steamer that feels so nice on your sinuses. If you are interested in shower steamers, try these out when you are congested and you will be sold!
These steamers have citric acid so they kinda bubble up. They are the shower equivalent to a bath bomb and they smell so nice! If you need something luxurious in your shower essentials, then these are the ones for you!
11. Essential Oils or Eucalyptus Plant
I recently put a Eucalyptus plant in my shower and it is so nice. When you start the shower your whole bathroom will fill with such a lovely smell from natural ingredients. You don’t have to be fancy, I got mine at Trader Joes!
I would be remiss if I forgot to add essential oils to a shower essentials list! 😉 They are perfect to add onto the floor of your shower while the shower is going to create a diffuser in your bathroom without setting anything up!
